What is retail lighting?
Retail lighting is any lighting system that is installed in your shop. It is designed specifically for retail purposes by design experts that understand this sector's business needs. Retail lighting design includes both exterior and interior systems and can take on many different forms.
Why is retail lighting important?
Retail lighting is incredibly important - if your store has poor lighting, your potential customers are unlikely to venture inside. Or, if they do decide to walk through the doors, they're likely to have a poor experience, leaving uninspired and empty-handed. Effective lighting design, on the other hand, is likely to attract the attention of passers-by, luring them towards your store. They're likely to be wowed by spotlights on your beautiful window displays and may be intrigued by your well-lit stock. Lighting that complements both your brand and your products is likely to enhance the customer experience within your store, leaving them feeling inspired and ready to buy.
What is the process that Harlec Lighting follow?
At Harlec Lighting, we provide a full lighting design service from start to finish. We will first visit your property in person to carry out a free lighting survey. This helps you to understand your current lighting set-up, how it is performing, and how it could be improved. Once you appoint us, we will then take a full briefing from you to best understand your business aspirations and goals.
It'll then be time for our experienced retail lighting designers to get to work. Based on the unique intricacies of your store, we will put together a series of attractive and realistic CAD format drawings and 3D visuals. This will show you in detail what your new lighting system will look like, as well as its expected performance and costs involved. We encourage feedback from you along the way, giving you regular visual updates. We'll then adapt our designs accordingly until you are completely happy with them.
Once you've signed off our designs, it is time to get your retail lighting installed. As part of our project management service, we can recommend lighting installation companies that are specific to the retail sector. Upon your approval, we will then work with the installers to set your system up quickly and safely.
We are specialists in incorporating energy efficiency into our designs. Inefficient lighting systems can be an incredible drain on carbon and costs, and many people are surprised by how much money a more modern system can save them. As part of our service, we carry out an assessment of each retail building, providing accurate calculations with regards to expected cost savings, kwh and carbon reductions. We also provide free energy saving advice, which will help you to keep carbon usage and monetary costs to a minimum going forward.
We also advise you on payback schemes and finance options, which can help you to further save on your lighting bills.
